TO THE CLOUDS

Ethereal clouds,

clouds like tulle,

transport my soul

through azure heaven.

Far from the house

that sees me suffer,

far from these walls

that watch me die!

Clouds of passage,

carry me to the sea

to listen to the song

of the high tide,

to sing amid

the flowering waves.

Clouds, blossoms, faces,

sketch me the one

who is gradually being erased

by time's infidelity.

My soul decays

without his face.

Clouds, passing

clouds, stop

over my heart

with your fresh mercy.

My lips are open:

I thirst.
